Vacuum consolidation (or vacuum preloading) is a soft soil improvement method by accelerate the consolidation process without disturb the surrounding area. The system using vacuum load of 70 kPa or greater instead of conventional preloading. However, if required loads in order to achieve the target soil improvement is more than vacuum load, additional surcharge may be placed on top of the vacuum system.
