Application: SUBSOIL DRAINAGE and FILTRATION

General

Uncontrolled ground water can be destructive. Due to this we need subsurface drainage under highways, parking lots, shorelines, walls, athletic fields, golf courses, racetracks, lawns and other areas.

Problem

Drainage system failure occurs most often from system clogging when the drainage aggregate becomes contaminated by the surrounding soil. Drainage system clogging will result in localized failure of the structure

Solution

Polyfelt geotextiles which are placed between the drainage aggregate and the soil to be drained, act as a filter and separator, retaining the natural soil while allowing water to pass into the drainage system over the life of the system.
Polyfelt geotextiles are extremely permeable and allow drainage of highly saturated fines silty soil

Material performance benefits
  • Prevents contamination or loss of drainage aggregate.
  • Allows the use of more open, freely draining aggregate.
  • Allows the possible use of smaller sized drains.
  • Reduces excavation.
  • Reduces the amount of wasted materials.
  • Possibly eliminated the use of collector pipes.
  • Increases the speed of construction.
  • Maintains continuity over large areas.

Drainage Material replaces the traditional lean concrete subbase course below foundation slabs and accelerates construction.
Areas of Application
  • Road edge drains.
  • Filters behind gabions and retaining walls.
  • Sport field drainage filters.
  • Drainage of golf course greens and sand bunkers.
  • Architectural and landscape drainage.
  • Agricultural drains.
