Application: EROSION PROTECTION

General

Erosion is the general process whereby materials of the earth's crust are worn away and removed by natural agencies,................., specifically land destruction and simultaneous removal of particles of soil by running water, waves, currents, moving ice or wind.

Problem

Erosion may be the cause of much inconvenience and serious damage. Water and wind have a scouring effect on slopes and banks.

Solution

The method to prevent any slope erosion is by using a synthetic material or biodegradable layer which structured as a three-dimensional mat (Polymat), as a honeycomb structure (Envirocell), as a concrete mattress (Incomat), or Biodegradable Erosion Protection. These materials offer protection before any vegetation has established. Therefore, they are often applied to protect new or repaired banks and slopes.

Performance benefits of materials
  • Polymat and Biodegradable Erosion Protection can keep the fertile earth fill and the germinating seeds in place, thus encouraging an active plant growth. In several months the root system becomes interlaced with this material, forming an integrated whole that stabilized the top layer
  • Envirocell forms mini-cascades, which slow down surface run-off, and prevents the formation of gullies and surface slips. With this material, the soil can be seeded or small shrubs can be planted in Envirocell cells, resulting in a speedy restoration of the environmental
  • Incomat can be ideally adapted to the existing surface and thereby provides specific erosion protection for unprofiled natural beds and slopes, even in areas below water where access is difficult, such as seashores and canals, even in a very severe condition.
